MHPSS in Public

Health Institutions

This project is grounded in providing mental health and psychosocial supports through public health institutions. Progress is assessed through 4 key indicators.

  • Through our mental health Gap Action Program (mhGAP) training, we successfully trained 18 elderly women and 12 stakeholder from January 2019 to June 2020.

  • Our initiative to provide evidence-based psychosocial interventions was met with great success. Up to date:

    2331 people received interpersonal counseling.

32 people engaged in group talk therapy.

  • The goal of this initiative is to strengthen community linkages with public health care pathways. The team has now provided over 20 referrals and 60 follow-ups.

  • Promoting mental health and raising awareness of MNS conditions and available services is integral to our mission. We have disseminated over 15,000 Swahili booklets (ISBN: 978-9976-88-413-5), 800 flyers, 120 posters and 215 t-shirts.
